Learn to machine appliqué three different ways as you create
a simple wall hanging. We will do a narrow zigzag stitch over raw,
fused, and turned-under edges. Pattern included. Maximum 20 students.

Learn to machine appliqué a small quilt top using your
own photo for inspiration. Choose among several methods of stitching
a narrow zigzag over raw, fused, and turned-under edges. We'll discuss
how to achieve depth, when and how to add design elements, and how
to simplify your design without sacrificing its essence. No drawing
skills required. This workshop can be expanded to 2-5 days for larger
projects. Maximum 20 students.

Workshop Fee:
$575 (6 hours) through 2008
$600 in 2009
Travel Expenses:
Sponsor to pay all transportation (including bridge tolls and parking
fees), meals, and lodging expenses. Mileage to be reimbursed at
the IRS standard mileage rate in effect at the time (50.5 cents
per mile in 2008). If overnight accommodations are necessary, Marcia
is happy to stay in a guest room with private bath in a nonsmoking
home.
